The art scene in Mexico has been categorized as…
In the mid 1980s, the major movement in Mexico was Neomexicanismo <http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Neomexicanismo&action=edit&redlink=1> , a slightly surreal, somewhat kitsch and postmodern version of Social Realism that focused on popular culture rather than history.
The 1990s to the present is roughly categorized as Postmodern, although this term has been used to describe works created before the 1990…Another is a Minimalist-Surrealist-influenced piece.
NONE OF THIS IS PRESENT AT A MANO!
The art I bring back from the Soul of Mexico is primarily exquisite renditions of scenery, wildlife and the people of central and southern Mexico. Large, vibrant expressions of life and vitality.
Different artists yield various styles and techniques.
We can even get custom, one of a kind canvases created from your favorite photos. Your photo is turned into the artist’s kinder, gentler version of the scene captured by the camera.
These are great gifts. Please Note…that custom art requires acceptance of the artist ‘license’ and patience on a fairly lengthily time frame from start to finish.
